The third Upcycle industry roundtable will take place on 15 April, bringing together Spanish stakeholders to explore how upcycling strategies and biobased materials can accelerate the shift toward more circular food packaging solutions. Organised by EROSKI and AIMPLAS, with the collaboration of the Basque Food Cluster, this session follows earlier roundtables held in Belgium and Denmark and concludes the threecountry series.

UPCYCLE participated in the BioSupPack Final Event on 26 March 2026, joining partners and sister initiatives to explore the latest advances in biobased and circular packaging. The event marked the conclusion of BioSupPack’s work and offered a clear view of how brewery spent grains can be transformed into PHBbased rigid packaging through an integrated, circular value chain.

UPCYCLE hosted its second Industry Roundtable on 20 March 2026 within the framework of The Future of Sustainable Plastics 2026, organised by the AAU Plastics Platform at Aalborg University.

Funded by Horizon Europe under the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA), project number 101178389, the UPCYCLE project is developing novel circular value chains to transform non-recyclable plastic waste into highly recyclable and non-persistent packaging solutions.

UPCYCLE took part in Plastics & Rubber Spain 2026, one of the key meeting points for the plastics and rubber sectors in the Iberian Peninsula. Held on 11–12 March, the event brought together companies, research centres and industry professionals working on sustainability and circular economy solutions.

The UPCYCLE project was presented at the IX International Seminar on Biopolymers and Sustainable Composites, held on 4–5 March 2026 in Valencia, Spain. The event was organised by UPCYCLE project partner AIMPLAS – Plastics Technology Centre, bringing together leading experts from research, industry, and innovation communities to discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable bioplastics and biocomposites within the circular economy.
