In April 2026, the UPCYCLE project was showcased at MeetingPack 2026, the international packaging event organised by project partner AIMPLAS together with AINIA in Valencia, Spain.
Held under the theme “Barrier Packaging Solutions: a Challenge for the Circular Economy”, the event brought together companies, researchers, technology providers, and other stakeholders from across the packaging value chain to discuss the future of sustainable packaging and the challenges associated with circularity, recyclability, material innovation, and regulatory developments.
Through AIMPLAS’ participation and role as co-organiser, UPCYCLE gained visibility among professionals and organisations working towards more sustainable packaging systems. The event provided an excellent opportunity to present the project’s objectives and raise awareness of its work on the valorisation of plastic waste and the development of circular solutions for the plastics sector.
During the two-day event, participants explored innovative solutions for food packaging, new material developments, recycling technologies, and strategies to improve the circularity of packaging products while maintaining performance and safety requirements.
The presence of UPCYCLE at MeetingPack 2026 contributed to strengthening the project’s dissemination activities and expanding its reach among key actors in the packaging sector. It also provided an opportunity to connect with stakeholders interested in plastic recycling, circular economy approaches, and innovations that support the transition towards more sustainable plastics.
Through activities such as MeetingPack 2026, UPCYCLE continues to increase the visibility of its work, promote knowledge exchange, and foster connections with organisations interested in advancing circular solutions for plastics and packaging.
