AAU Science Café Returns with a Special Edition on AI for Enzymes – Join Us on 11 December!

Upcycle Project - AAU Science Café - DIC25

The UPCYCLE project is pleased to announce the next edition of the AAU Science Café, a series dedicated to fostering collaboration, innovation, and cross-disciplinary dialogue in the field of circular plastics. Organised by UPCYCLE Project Coordinator Aalborg University (AAU), this final event of the year will take place on 11 December 2025, with more Science Café sessions planned throughout the coming year.

The AAU Circular Plastics platform brings together PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and industry partners to explore cutting-edge topics shaping the future of plastics. As a collaborative initiative across AAU’s faculties and departments, the platform acts as a hub for advancing how plastics are designed, recycled, and managed with a strong focus on innovation, interdisciplinary research, and global outreach.

This Edition’s Theme: The Role of AI for Enzymes

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the landscape of biocatalysis and enzymatic recycling. This Science Café will delve into how AI tools, molecular simulations, and computational modelling are accelerating the discovery and optimisation of enzymes capable of breaking down plastics — a topic directly linked to UPCYCLE’s mission of converting today’s non-recyclable plastics into safe, recyclable, and biodegradable alternatives.

📅 Date: 11 December 2025
🕒 Time: 15:00–16:30 (CET)
📍 Venue: Thomas Manns Vej 25, Room C.104A+B, Aalborg East
