The UPCYCLE consortium successfully held its second Executive Board meeting on 4 May 2026, bringing together partners to review progress, share updates across all work packages, and reinforce coordination as the project moves forward.

The UPCYCLE project was featured at interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, through the participation of project partner AIMPLAS. Bringing together more than 2,800 exhibitors from 65 countries and visitors from 161 countries, the event provided a valuable opportunity to present UPCYCLE's work to an international audience involved in the future of packaging and materials.

The UPCYCLE project was present at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2026 in Amsterdam through the participation of project partner AIMPLAS. Bringing together companies, researchers, technology providers, and decision-makers from across the plastics value chain, PRSE is a key meeting point for discussing the latest developments in recycling, material innovation, and circular solutions.

UPCYCLE, represented by the coordinator partner Aalborg University, took part in the Nordic Bioplastic Conference 2026, held at Industriens Hus in Copenhagen. The event brought together companies, researchers, policymakers and organisations from across the bioplastics value chain. 

In April 2026, the UPCYCLE project was showcased at MeetingPack 2026, the international packaging event organised by project partner AIMPLAS together with AINIA in Valencia, Spain.

The third and final UPCYCLE Industry Roundtable took place on 15 April in Spain, bringing together a highly engaged group of stakeholders from across the food packaging value chain. Organised by EROSKI and AIMPLAS, with the collaboration of the Basque Food Cluster, the session marked the conclusion of the threecountry roundtable series launched earlier in Belgium and Denmark.
